Fine Art Classes for kids

Ready for your kids to Start their Artistic Journey?
Welcome to Art for Kids (AFK) by Studio H, Fort Collins preferred fine art classes for kids aged 6-12. Classes are designed to be in small groups (up to 8 students) with individualized instruction. Students work on their own projects, at their own pace, and in a variety of different medium programs. The programs are chosen for each individual student based on an assessment by the instructor for the desired medium. Every medium program has 12 projects that are designed to progress the student forward through a variety of techniques. After students finish the projects in a program, each student receives a certificate of completion signed by the instructor that they can take home and proudly display their achievement to their family and friends.

Whether your child or children are beginners or are looking to expand their current skills, our comprehensive curriculum covers a range of drawing medium programs.
Your child or children will start their drawings using simple shapes to bring their creations to life. Gain an understanding of the color wheel, primary, secondary, tertiary colors, and the interplay of light and shadows to bring their creations to life. They will learn blending and lifting techniques, the art of layering, tonal changes to create depth and how to master highlights and shadows to add dimension to their artwork.

Start or continue your child’s or children’s creative journey through our in-person painting art classes for kids. Whether your child or children are beginning painting for the first time or their wanting to enhance their creative art skills, our guidance through painting techniques will allow them to expand their inner artist.
Color blending theories through use of the color wheel’s primary, secondary, and tertiary colors. Explore complimentary and opposite colors and how they can enrich their paintings. Learn brush control, pressure, movement, and angles to achieve desired results. Gain an understanding of painting terms, their applications, and how to use techniques to complete their work of art.
