We offer drawing and painting classes in these mediums: Graphite pencil, black micron ink pen, Prisma colored pencil, pastel and pencil, acrylic, watercolor, and water-soluble oil. Each student works at their own pace and level in their choice of medium based on the programs provided through an individualized teaching method.
Classes are taught through a progressive program using specific projects to teach basic through advanced fundamentals and techniques.
All introduction classes begin with a core guideline of the color wheel, shapes, highlights & shadows, and how to use the medium, art supplies, and tools to achieve the desired results.
Our Northern Colorado studio offers a comfortable, judgment-free zone to encourage your creativity to flow.

Welcome to painting with watercolors, mixed media, acrylics, and oils offered by Studio H! Start or continue your creative journey through our in-person painting art classes for teens and adults. Whether you are jumping into painting for the first time or wanting to enhance your creative art skills, our guidance through painting techniques will allow you to expand your inner artist.
Color blending theories through use of the color wheel’s primary, secondary, and tertiary colors. Explore complimentary and opposite colors and how they can enrich your paintings. Learn brush control, pressure, movement, and angles to achieve desired results. Gain an understanding of painting terms, their applications, and how to use techniques to complete your work of art.

Workshops (age 16+)
Studio H offers scheduled workshops for their enrolled students in a variety of mediums as the students request an interest in a topic and or technique to be further explored. Examples of workshops include color blending, perspective/depth, art styles, techniques, how to use mediums, clouds, facial features, animal fur and texture, eyes, ears, nose, foliage, trees, leaves, grass, flowers, water, rocks, snow, and mountains to name a few. These workshops are set up differently than our normal art classes, in that the instructor will stand in front of the class and demonstrate the techniques and processes to achieve the best results from the reference photo and assist each student in applying the steps to complete their project. Students are encouraged to share their creativity in an open question and answer environment. Light snacks and coffee, hot cocoa, tea, and water are served throughout each workshop.

All art supplies, smock, paint, brushes, etc. are included for you to use during the workshop
For current students to enroll for a workshop, access your Student/Parent Portal by clicking the button below. On the right side of the dashboard click the green events button and select the day and time you would like to enroll in the workshop. If you cannot make it to any of the scheduled workshops on the calendar, we will be scheduling and announcing more workshops in the upcoming months. New and upcoming workshops will be announced in classes and updated on the Student/Parent Portal and written on our in-studio announcement board.
